The Girardville East End Public Recreation Area was a material-only purchase grant project and was funded through the Keystone Acquisition and Development Small Communities/Small Projects component. The owner competitively bid and purchased recreation materials and equipment for installation. The Borough acted as their own general contractor in installing all equipment, safety surfacing, and fencing. In August of 1997, Prodesign Plus P.C. was retained to provide design services and prepare bidding documents for the purchase of the materials for the Borough. In the fall of 1998, the construction was completed.
